Andrew is continuously looking for ways to improve himself, his team and the projects they work on. A strong technical resource, he uses his exceptional knowledge of structural steel to resolve complex steel issues. Diligent in his approach, organized and reliable, clients appreciate and trust Andrew to help make their projects successful.
Andrew has local and international experience on a wide range of residential, commercial, retail and entertainment structures. He continues to work on innovative structures including a one acre elevated Pedestrian Park over Canada’s largest rail corridor that is part of CIBC Square project, a first in Canada. He has also recently worked on 30 Bay and 160 Front Street, two of Toronto’s premiere office towers. Andrew is focused on making projects a reality by providing efficient and cost effective structural framing options even within the context of a complex and dynamic client vision.
He completed his Bachelors degree and a PhD at the University of Toronto. His doctoral degree focused on hollow steel connections using advanced experimental and finite element techniques with research incorporated with the Eurocode and guidelines for hollow structural steel. He routinely presents at major conferences, guest lectures at the University of Toronto, has been a reviewer for the Journal of Construction Steel Research, and is a member of CSA S-16 Design of Steel Structures – Standards Development Technical Committee. Andrew also advances RJC’s technical leadership by heading a Bluebeam tool development group and assisting with the firm’s design guidelines for structural steel systems.
