Mark Bowen

Mark is a leader in the design, assessment and rehabilitation of bridges and related transportation structures. He is instrumental in expanding RJC’s Bridge Design and Rehabilitation services through a focus on client service and collaboration in project delivery. As an engineer and leader, Mark is a valuable senior resource to his team. He has a strong understanding of bridge design issues, based on his years of experience with the design, assessment, rehabilitation, and construction of a wide variety of pedestrian, road and rail bridges. His knowledge allows him to provide insight proactively, to improve durability and constructability for bridge projects.
His project highlights include steel girder and pre-stressed concrete road bridges, steel truss and tied-arch pedestrian bridges, retaining walls, water-retaining structures, and demolition engineering for severely damaged or deteriorated bridges. His talent in both engineering and project management is evident in his leadership delivering the West LRT project, which included six LRT stations, an elevated guideway and five vehicle and pedestrian bridges.
Mark received his Master’s of Engineering at the University of Surrey in Guildford, United Kingdom. He joined RJC after working in consulting engineering in Alberta and the United Kingdom.
