On February 12, Wood WORKS! Alberta recognized a prominent group of leading architects, engineers, owners and suppliers at the 11th annual Prairie Wood Design Awards gala. The Prairie Wood Design Awards recognize projects and organizations that advance the use of wood in construction through design excellence, advocacy and innovation. Award recipients were presented with a custom designed wooden trophy recognizing their ability to push the limits of wood in construction.
Among RJC’s winning projects were Institutional Wood Design Award Winner: Shane Homes YMCA at Rocky Ridge, designed by GEC Architecture, and Wood Advocate Award Winner: Calgary Municipal Land Corporate for The Simmons Building.
“The winning projects from our awards program demonstrate Alberta’s commitment to exploring increased options for wood in construction,” says Rory Koska, Program Director of Wood WORKS! Alberta.
