RJC Engineers (RJC) is excited to announce that the Firm’s commitment to their people, growth, and clients on the East Coast has allowed them to open a new office in Halifax, Nova Scotia. RJC has been a trusted advisor in Halifax and Atlantic Canada for many years, providing expertise through our existing offices. The opening of the Halifax office underpins RJC’s commitment to the region and allows our local people with local relationships to bring the depth of experience and RJC to the City and Maritimes.
RJC’s focus on developing long-lasting, trusted relationships with local clients, industry and community has led to over 75 years of engineering excellence. RJC has contributed to Atlantic Canada’s infrastructure with projects like the Halifax Shopping Centre Redevelopment, Irving Oil Head Office, Jean Canfield Building, Atlantic Technology Centre, countless lighthouse restorations, the construction of multiple long-term care homes, parking structure condition assessments and maintenance, reserve fund studies, and condition assessments. These projects highlight RJC’s capacity to handle a wide range of engineering challenges, from commercial upgrades to preserving historical sites and addressing the needs of the province’s aging population.
“It’s an exciting time for RJC as we provide another opportunity to be closer geographically to our clients in Atlantic Canada,” shares Andrew Bayne, Managing Principal. “Our goal in opening this new office is to focus on local relationships, support our people and their families, and contribute to the community and local industry in a meaningful way.”
Stephen Mercer, Regional Manager for the new Halifax office, brings a unique perspective. Stephen, a graduate of Dalhousie University, began his career in Halifax before joining RJC's West Coast Vancouver office upon completion of his Master’s Degree at the University of British Columbia in 2012. Stephen made a family decision to relocate back to the Maritimes, which created an opportunity for RJC to support a team member and invest in the Halifax market by establishing an office. His background and education equip him with technical and leadership skills and local knowledge to guide projects to success in Atlantic Canada.
“With the opening of our office in Halifax, we are thrilled to be contributing to the community. This local presence enhances our service to clients on the East Coast and provides a platform for us to support the local community and broader region,” states Stephen. “We are eager to welcome our clients to our new office and continue to provide exceptional client service, and creative engineering solutions to support their projects.” Our office is located at 1701 Hollis Street, Suite 800.
