Scott Wallace Bestowed Ed Keate Award

Scott Wallace received the Ed Keate Award at the Canadian Parking Association’s Trade Show and Conference in Quebec City, Quebec.

The Canadian Parking Association (CPA) was founded in 1983 to unite interested parties to form a cohesive national voice for the parking industry. The Founder’s Awards, the Ted Seeberg Award, and Ed Keate Award, recognize and celebrate those who make a valuable contribution. The Ed Keate Award is presented to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to advancing knowledge in the parking industry.

“Scott’s contributions to the success of the Canadian Parking Association during his tenure on the Board of Directors, particularly during his time as President cannot be understated. His skilled leadership, dedication, and friendship have left a legacy that will endure,” shares Canadian Parking Association Executive Director Carole Whitehorne.

A recognized expert in parking planning and the structural design of parking structures, Scott contributed to the design of numerous award-winning parkades and authored publications on parking design. He was the Director, Vice President, and President of the Canadian Parking Association (CPA). In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the parking industry, he also received the Ted Seeberg Award, presented to an individual for their outstanding Contribution to the Canadian Parking Industry.

“Scott was a valued and trusted mentor who shared his deep knowledge of best practices and advancements for parking structures. He championed innovative solutions, creative thinking, and a practical approach. These are skills that deeply influenced my career designing parking garages,” shares RJC Associate Darren Wint, who is actively involved with the Canadian Parking Association and is Chair of the Technical Committee, Parking Structures (CSA S413.) 

In accepting the award, Scott acknowledged his hope that the CPA will continue to be strong. He reiterated what has made CPA successful - working together, learning from each other, and sharing information amongst and for the benefit of its membership.

Scott was an integral part of the Canadian parking industry, RJC Engineers, and the building industry for over 30 years. He helped to deliver projects that are centerpieces of development and some of Canada’s most recognizable landmarks. He retired in August 2022, but Scott, and his work, continue to be recognized.
