Daryl trains and mentors a group of engineers and technologists through the project process. He helps people understand the value of taking collective knowledge and applying it to bring best value to our clients. Daryl’s depth of experience covers a wide variety of project types and materials. His understanding of why structures need repair allows him to proactively develop rehabilitation strategies to minimize future problems.
Specializing in the assessment, repair and rehabilitation of concrete structures, Daryl has a wide range of experience in the restoration and protection of existing building structures and envelopes including parking garages and industrial facilities. His design experience for new construction includes commercial, residential, high-rise, and parking structures. Daryl's projects have won numerous awards. His concrete repair work at EPCOR Gold Bar Wastewater Treatment Plant and the Commonwealth Stadium Rehabilitation program both won Awards of Excellence in Sustainability from the International Concrete Repair Institute, and the Agrium Prill Tower Restoration won an Award of Excellence in Concrete Restoration from the American Concrete Institute.
Daryl received his bachelor and master’s degrees from the University of Alberta. He joined RJC after four years of experience in the timber roof and floor truss industry. Daryl is a member of the Technical Committee for commentary notes on ACI 562 “Code Requirements for Evaluation, Repair, and Rehabilitation of Concrete Buildings” with the International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI).
